CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS (FALL 2010) 

The purpose of the ASPA 2010 conference is to:

·         train participants on a model for service delivery for ELL students from early intervention to referral decisions;

·         inform participants how to identify and assess ELL students who have special education needs; and

·         provide a rationale for linking these pieces to make eligibility decisions.

Day 1: Dr. Alba Ortiz:

The discussion will focus on the presentation of a model for linking student, schooling, early intervention, referral, and assessment data for decision-making for English language learners. 

Day 2:  Dr. Sam Ortiz:

The discussion will focus on guidance on how to conduct the evaluation of an English language learner given our limited bi-lingual skills/personnel.
